Imprimis said a study in 36 evaluable healthy volunteers showed that the pharmacokinetic profiles of 2 and 4 g topical Impracor were "very consistent." The company also said that the application of an occlusive knee bandage with either heat or exercise following administration of Impracor showed faster initial but lower overall plasma exposure of ketoprofen relative to non-occluded administration of Impracor with no heat or exercise. Impracor was well tolerated. Subjects received 3 topical Impracor applications - 1 each during normal activities, heat exposure to the application site and exercising on a treadmill - and an oral dose of ketoprofen given in weekly intervals.
