Human neural stem cells: Interim Phase I/II data

Additional data from the first cohort of patients with thoracic neurological injuries (n=3) in an open-label, Swiss Phase I/II trial showed that improvements in sensory function observed in 2 patients at 6 months after transplantation with 20 million HuCNS-SC cells into the spinal cord have persisted to 12 months, with 1 patient converting from a complete to an incomplete injury. The company said the third patient remains stable. The first cohort enrolled patients with a complete thoracic SCI classified as level A on the American Spinal Injury Association Impairment Scale (AIS) in which there is no neurological function below the level of the injury.
