Senate committee to hold hearing on Tavenner nomination

The U.S. Senate Finance Committee announced on Tuesday that it will hold a hearing on April 9 to discuss the nomination of Marilyn Tavenner as CMS administrator. Tavenner has been CMS's acting administrator since Donald Berwick stepped down in December 2011. President Obama previously nominated Tavenner for the position in December 2011, but the Senate never held a hearing to discuss the nomination.
