Shionogi launched its Shionogi Science Program (SSP) and FINDS (Pharma-Innovation Discovery competition Shionogi) competitions for drug discovery collaborations with the pharma. If chosen, researchers can work with the company to develop their submitted ideas into commercially viable products. Applications for both competitions are due Oct. 31.

Shionogi's SSP is seeking applications focused on drug targets to treat islet dysfunction related to Type II diabetes, chronic kidney diseases (CKD), HIV and emerging or re-emerging infectious disease; drug targets, analytical methods and animal models for drug discovery to treat ADHD, sleep disorder or for neuroprotective and neuroregenerative drugs; ideas for next-generation biologics; and ideas for novel technology for drug formulation. Each SSP project will receive up to ¥15 million ($192,001) annually. SPP is available to researchers in parts of Europe, Australia and Japan. ...
