Boston Scientific, J&J cardiovascular news

Boston Scientific will pay $1.73 billion to Johnson & Johnson's Cordis Corp. subsidiary to settle three patent disputes covering cardiovascular stents. The first dispute alleged Boston Scientific's Express, Taxus Express and Liberte stents infringed J&J's Palmaz and Gray patents. The second alleged that J&J's Cypher, BX Velocity and Genesis stents infringed Boston Scientific's Jang patents. A third dispute, which was scheduled for a trial in September, alleged Boston Scientific's Taxus Liberte stent infringed J&J's Gray patent. In 2005, liability trials found both companies had infringed the other's patents related to the first two disputes. ...
