Finland and Luxembourg approved Iluvien fluocinolone acetonide intravitreal implant from Alimera to treat vision impairment associated with chronic diabetic macular edema (DME) considered insufficiently responsive to available therapies. The injectable insert that delivers fluocinolone acetonide is approved in 15 EU countries and marketed in the U.K. and Germany.
