Actilyse regulatory update

The Scottish Medicines Consortium recommended the use of Actilyse alteplase from Boehringer on the National Health Service (NHS) in Scotland to treat acute ischemic stroke up to 4.5 hours after onset of stroke symptoms and after prior exclusion of intracranial hemorrhage. The tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) was approved last year under the EU Mutual Recognition Procedure, with Germany acting as the reference member state (see BioCentury, Nov. 14, 2011). ...
