External Trigeminal Nerve Stimulation: Phase I data

Researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles, reported data from 6 patients in the first cohort of a single-arm, open-label, U.S. Phase I trial in 20 patients with MDD co-occurring with PTSD that lasted >4 months showing that nightly 8-hour treatment with eTNS led to significant mean reductions from baseline to week 8 of 36% in PTSD Checklist scores and of >50% in mean Quick Inventory of Depressive Symptomatology (QIDS-C) scores.
