A large, publicly available data set for predicting PK from structure for IV drugs

In an August Drug Metabolism and Disposition study, a team from Alkermes plc (NASDAQ:ALKS), Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) and Biogen Inc. (NASDAQ:BIIB) assembled PK and physicochemical properties for over a thousand IV-delivered small molecules into a data set that could power algorithms that predict PK profiles based on chemical structure. The data are available online as a public resource.

According to author Franco Lombardo, the results meet the team’s perceived need for a large data set of standardized information for IV small molecules, and the data set is the largest publicly available set of its kind.
