FNIH launches project to improve TB vaccination

Backed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health launched a project to study a new delivery route to improve the efficacy of the only approved tuberculosis vaccine.

Researchers from the Vaccine Research Center of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and University of Pittsburgh will analyze IV delivery of the TB vaccine, Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG), which is usually delivered intradermally at birth.
