Budget deal includes massive FDA funding boost

The FY19 budget deal that President Donald Trump is expected to sign this week will provide a $260 million increase in FDA funding, including $210 million in added funding for medical products. The added funding will be focused on initiatives to accelerate the shift from batch to continuous manufacturing, to allow FDA to better integrate real-world evidence into regulatory decisions and to develop new policies for regulating digital health technologies.
