Senate rejects clawback attempt

The Senate rejected a bill on Wednesday that would have rescinded more than $7 billion previously approved for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

The original legislation proposed by the Trump administration, called the Spending Cuts to Expired and Unnecessary Programs Act, also included a rescission of $252 million for Ebola outbreak response through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) (see "Trump Withdraws Proposal to Rescind Ebola Funds")...
