CFDA planning to double reviewers

China FDA's Chief Scientist Ruyi He said at the WuXi Global Forum in San Francisco on Tuesday that the agency plans to double the number of its reviewers to 1,600 from 800 by 2020. In 2015, CFDA had only about 170 reviewers (see BioCentury, Oct. 19, 2015).

Over the last year, He said CFDA has pushed to increase efficiency, innovation and transparency, noting that the agency has translated 700 technical guidances from international regulatory agencies in order to match standards.
