FDA to begin hiring pilot in early 2018

FDA plans to begin a pilot program early next year to modernize and streamline its hiring process, based on findings from the Initial Assessment of FDA Hiring and Retention report released Wednesday.

In a blog post, FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb said the pilot program will focus on hiring "several critical occupations in the medical product areas" to support PDUFA VI and BsUFA II commitments. The pilot program will implement new digital and social media tools. It will also eliminate superfluous procedures throughout the end-to-end hiring process, which currently involves 52-58 steps and takes 190-845 days...
