ACLU suing FDA over abortion pill REMS

The American Civil Liberties Union filed a suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii against FDA challenging the REMS program for abortion drug Mifeprex mifepristone (RU-486).

According to the suit, the REMS restricts access to the progestin antagonist by making it available only directly from a healthcare provider who has pre-registered with the drug manufacturer Danco Laboratories LLC (New York, N.Y.) to have the pill ordered and stocked in its medical facility.
