U.K. officials outline aims to work with EU post-Brexit

In a letter to the Financial Times, U.K. Secretary of State for Health Jeremy Hunt and U.K. Secretary of State for Business Greg Clark said the U.K.'s government is committed to working with the EU to regulate medicines following the country's exit from the EU. Hunt and Clark said they are aiming to ensure that U.K. patients have access to "the best and most innovative medicines," and that the U.K. "would like to find a way to continue to collaborate with the EU, in the interests of public health and safety."

The letter outlined three principles for a post-Brexit regulatory system: that patients should not be disadvantaged, that innovators should have access to the U.K. market "as quickly and simply as possible," and that the U.K. continues to be a public health leader...
