Senate passes continuing resolution

The U.S. Senate voted 62-30 to pass a continuing resolution (H.RES.117) that would extend funding at current levels for government operations but would not allow FDA to benefit from an increase in drug and medical device user fees or to spend the newly enacted user fees for biosimilars and generics. The bill, which now goes to President Obama, would extend current funding through March 27, 2013, six months after the Oct. 1 expiration date for the FY12 budget (see BioCentury, Sept. 17). ...
