Inhibiting TRMT6 activity for colorectal cancer

Inhibiting the activity of the tRNA methyltransferase TRMT6, which adds N1-methyladenosine (m1A) modifications to tRNA, could help treat colorectal cancer by promoting ribosomal stalling at AAA and AAG codons on histone-encoding mRNAs, which decreases histone translation and synthesis, and thus colorectal cancer cell cycle progression.
