Newly discovered hormone cholesin for hypercholesterolemia

Cholesin, a hormone secreted by the intestine in response to cholesterol absorption, could help treat hypercholesterolemia and atherosclerosis by suppressing liver cholesterol synthesis promoted by the transcription factor SREBP2, thus decreasing circulating cholesterol.
