PIEZO1 activation for food intake regulation in obesity

Activation of the mechanosensitive channel PIEZO1, which is expressed in the stomach lining and detects food-induced stomach stretching, could help treat obesity by inhibiting ghrelin production and decreasing appetite and food intake.
