Scios, Shionogi sales and marketing update

Shionogi began selling a congestive heart failure diagnostic based on the detection of b-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) in blood. Levels of BNP - a hormone made primarily in the ventricles of the heart - are elevated during heart dysfunction. Shionogi developed the test under license from SCIO for the use of BNP in Japan.
