Berkeley HeartLab Inc., Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory deal

Berkeley HeartLab obtained an option to acquire exclusive worldwide rights to heart disease test panel technology developed at LBL under a five-year $3.8 million research agreement. The technology will improve early screening for heart disease, the company said. It measures several newly discovered risk factors and abnormalities, including the size of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) particles.
