Sandoz will donate $1 million to privately held Research Genetics to produce the polymerase chain reaction primers and radiation hybrids for use in mapping the human genome. Whitehead and Stanford will receive no direct funding from Sandoz, but will use the tools produced by Research Genetics in their gene mapping efforts.
