The California Supreme Court denied Monsanto's petition to review an April 1996 state appeals court ruling in favor of MYCO's Mycogen Plant Science Inc. subsidiary. The appellate court had upheld MYCO's right to exercise options to license certain Monsanto herbicide tolerance and insect resistance technology for plants. The options give MYCO the right to license Monsanto's Roundup Ready herbicide tolerance technology for corn, cotton, and oilseed rape; and Monsanto's Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) insect resistance gene technology for corn. ...
