Metra Biosystems Inc, Osteo Sciences Corp deal

MTRA will acquire privately held Osteo Sciences for $10 million of MTRA common stock. Osteo Sciences has developed prototypes of a non-invasive hand-held ultrasound diagnostic for measuring bone weakness. The products have not been tested in the clinic.

MTRA CFO Bennet Weintraub said the ultrasound products will complement MTRA's bone resorption assays. "Their products give you an image of the architecture of bone, while our test gives you the rate of change in bone," he said. ...
