Ritonavir protease inhibitor data

An open-label study in 21 advanced, previously untreated AIDS patients, given ritonavir in combination with AZT and ddC for at least six months, showed nearly a doubling in CD4 counts and a reduction of viral load from baseline by an average of 2.42 logs at six months.
The viral load reduction was sustained at month six. According to the data presented at the Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections in Washington, CD4 levels increased to 303 from a median baseline count of 156. ...
