Therapeutic Antibodies preclinical data

Therapeutic Antibodies published results of a pilot trial of its polyclonal TNF antibody in a model of human sepsis, a disease called louse-borne relapsing fever. The disease is treated with penicillin, but the antibiotic causes a massive inflammatory response in the majority of patients, called the Jarisch-Herxheimer Reaction, involving a cytokine cascade including TNF.

The trial, carried out in Ethiopia, found less of a reaction in patients treated with CytoTAb plus penicillin than is caused by treatment with penicillin alone. ...
