University researchers presented in vitro and in vivo research showing that Onconase, a cytotoxic ribonuclease, is a radiosensitizing and anti-angiogenic agent and an anti-proliferative and cytotoxic agent. Data were presented at the Radiation Research Society meeting in Chicago.

Onconase induces intracellular enzymatic degradation of RNA, which inhibits cellular growth and proliferation. The company said the results showed that Onconase may have potential as an adjuvant to radiation or to chemotherapeutic agents in solid tumors. ...
