FCP-3P1 cholesterol reducing agent data

Results from a Phase I Canadian trial with the cholesterol-lowering agent in patients with normal cholesterol and lipid levels indicated that low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels fell as much as 17 percent in males and 10 percent in females. In addition, the company said, a favorable response was seen across virtually the entire lipid and lipoprotein profile in both sexes. For example, HDL levels increased by >8 percent in males, and triglyceride levels decreased by 26 percent in females. According to FMI, the positive effects occurred over a short time - 10 days - and with a very low dose of the drug, which is derived from wood pulp. ...
