The Cambridge, Mass., company received a $100,000 Phase I SBIR from the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease to develop monoclonal antibodies and small molecule drugs that selectively block the recruitment of disease-causing inflammatory leukocytes into the bowel.

The company has developed compounds that show in vitro activity in blocking the ligand receptor Alpha4 Beta7, and which have displayed an ability to bind to mucosal adressan cell adhesion molecules (MAdCAM). ...
