LJPC (San Diego) reported that a single,100 mg dose lowered levels of anti-double-stranded DNA antibodies associated with kidney destruction, and was well tolerated, in four patients. On average, the reduction exceeded 50 percent and remained down for the four weeks of follow-up.
Comparative benefits were seen with either infusion or bolus injection, or whether the patients had low or high levels of the antibodies. No adverse effects were seen, and the levels of circulating immune complexes or complement did not change. ...
