PRCY (Kirkland, Wash.) published in vitro data showing inhibition of HIV protease and other mechanisms of action of its copper compound.
As reported in the Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, the protease enzyme itself is blocked by the compound. However, inhibition of infection in human cells occurs by another route, possibly by blocking the interaction of the glycoproteins and receptors on the target cell to prevent viral entry. ...
