The Malvern, Penn., company published the ability of an antibody-targeted liposome to plug holes in cardiac cell membranes after hypoxia (reduced oxygen supply).
As reported in Nature Medicine, an anti-myosin antibody incorporated into liposomes prevented cell death in culture after hypoxia (cell viability was 96 percent compared to 14 percent of untreated cells). Cells treated with the liposomal complex have survived more than seven days in culture and replicated normally. ...
