Shaman deal

SHMN (South San Francisco) and Ono Pharmaceuticals Inc. will collaborate to develop compounds to treat non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (Type II diabetes). Under the three-year agreement, SHMN will screen 100 diabetes-specific plant extracts per year in vivo, isolate and identify active compounds, and participate in any medicinal chemistry modification.
