ProStrakan launched Abstral fentanyl in the U.S. to treat breakthrough cancer pain. The sublingual mucoadhesive fentanyl is only available through a REMS program under which pharmacies, distributors and health care professionals must enroll in the program to prescribe, dispense and distribute the drug.
