Ion Torrent Systems Inc., Life Technologies deal

Life Technologies will acquire DNA sequencing company Ion Torrent for $375 million in cash and stock, plus potential milestones of $350 million in cash and stock. Life Technologies said Ion Torrent's PostLight sequencing technology will complement its CE and SOLiD sequencing systems.
