Jazz’s deal to acquire venture-backed Actio adds a rare epilepsy treatment to the Irish pharma’s neurology portfolio, building on the company’s expertise in rare and severe forms of epilepsy.
The deal to buy Actio Biosciences Inc., announced Monday, gives Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc (NASDAQ:JAZZ) ABS-1230, an oral small molecule KCNT1 ion channel inhibitor in Phase I/II testing for KCNT1+ epilepsy, a rare genetic developmental and epileptic encephalopathy.
