A U.K. start-up whose discoveries led to the approval of a prophylactic against COVID-19 has drawn $115 million in series A cash to advance an antibody designed to prevent influenza in vulnerable populations.

Frazier Life Sciences led the syndicate behind RQ Biotechnology Ltd., a four-year-old company launched by founding investor LifeArc Ventures and backed by Oxford Science Enterprises. Under a deal with RQ Bio, AstraZeneca plc (LSE:AZN; NYSE:AZN) holds rights to Kavigale sipavibart, a mAb approved in the EU and other territories as a prophylactic against COVID-19 infection in immunocompromised individuals...
