Shreehas Tambe becomes first CEO of newly combined Biocon

One of India’s most prominent biotechs has a new CEO as  Biocon Ltd. (BSE:532523; NSE:BIOCON) moves to simplify its structure. Shreehas Tambe is the first CEO to lead Biocon’s combined business. He led the company’s $3.4 billion acquisition and integration of the biosimilars unit of Viatris Inc. (NASDAQ:VTRS), which helped expand Biocon’s global footprint and become a global top five biosimilars company. Tambe, who joined Biocon three decades ago, was previously CEO and managing director of subsidiary Biocon Biologics Ltd.
