Nobel winners still pushing boundaries in Treg innovation 

Paradigm-shifting research into Tregs and peripheral immune tolerance helped launch entire spaces of therapeutic development, including cancer immunotherapy, organ transplant rejection and autoimmune disease. Almost 30 years after their foundational discoveries, the recipients of the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine are still researching and advancing the use of Treg-based therapies in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

Mary Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi were awarded the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their discovery of regulatory T cells (Tregs), revealing how the immune system prevents attacks on the body’s own tissues. ...
