Cooke’s mandate extended at EMA

EMA’s management board has unanimously decided to renew Emer Cooke’s term as executive director through April 30, 2027, Cooke said in a post on LinkedIn. “It is an exciting time for medicines regulation and there will be a huge amount of work to be done as we prepare for the implementation of the new pharma legislation in a time of huge technological change and geopolitical uncertainty,” wrote Cooke, who took on the executive director role in 2020, steering the agency through the pandemic.

Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. (Tokyo:4502; NYSE:TAK) hired Rhonda Pacheco as president of its U.S. business unit. Pacheco, who joins from Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE:LLY) where she was group VP of U.S. Lilly cardiometabolic health, will succeed Julie Kim, who will become president and CEO of the Japanese pharma next June.
