Gosebruch becomes Galapagos CEO as company reconsiders proposal to split in two

A series of transitions at Galapagos N.V. (Euronext:GLPG; NASDAQ:GLPG), including a CEO change and a spinout, are not transpiring as planned.

Paul Stoffels is retiring immediately as Galapagos’ CEO, rather than waiting for the company to identify a successor as it had previously announced. Henry Gosebruch, who was to lead the spinout, is now succeeding Stoffels in Galapagos’ CEO role. The Belgian biotech is also reconsidering whether to split in two, and is exploring strategic options for all of its businesses, including the cell therapy programs that Galapagos was to retain after the spinout...
