Crippling NIH is handing China a huge advantage: a Perspective

It’s arguable as to whether the chaos around the executive orders this week in which NIH has been swept up is a feature or a bug of the Trump administration’s strategy. What’s not been part of the strategy, it seems, is that this is handing a huge advantage to ex-U.S. competitors in biomedical science, notably China.
