A Chinese Academy of Sciences team led by Longlong Si published a pair of papers describing its updated proteolysis-targeting (PROTAR) technology to develop safer live-attenuated vaccines.
The authors engineered proteasome-targeting degrons, which are used by E3 ubiquitin ligases to target proteins for degradation, into various genomic loci of influenza viruses to promote proteasomal degradation of the viral proteins. ...
