Biosecure Act gains key backer in biotech champion Rep. Eshoo

Bay Area lawmaker’s co-sponsorship comes ahead of hearing that will provide early indication of possible changes to the bill

One of the biotech industry’s strongest allies in Congress, Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.), has signed on as a co-sponsor of the Biosecure Act, underscoring bipartisan support for the bill. Eshoo’s decision to endorse the bill comes as the House Oversight and Accountability Committee is preparing a markup hearing on the legislation.
