Short-term shutdown may have little impact on FDA reviews, approvals

As Washington braces for a possible government shutdown, HHS contingency plans suggest that FDA’s review of medical products would not be severely affected by a short-term funding lapse. In addition, CMS would continue to administer Medicare, but its ability to advance implementation of the Medicare drug negotiation program is uncertain. NIH operations would be seriously disrupted.
