AI Proteins names Noah Beerman as CEO, Alles chair

Protein discovery company AI Proteins Inc. named COO Noah Beerman as its new CEO and appointed Mark Alles chairman. Beerman succeeds Drew Dennison, who will continue as a board member. Alles was chairman and CEO of Celgene Corp. Beerman, who joined the company in April, was previously EVP of BD and president, U.S. operations at Poxel S.A. (Euronext:POXEL).
Emergent BioSolutions Inc. (NYSE:EBS) said that as a part of a strategic shift away from its services business, it is reducing its headcount by 400 across all parts of the company and eliminating the COO role. EVP and COO Adam Havey will leave on Sept. 30, after which SVP and Head of Bioservices Bill Hartzel will assume responsibility for manufacturing operations and join the executive team. The company, which expects annualized savings of $100 million from the restructuring, will focus on its medical countermeasures and opioid overdose drug Narcan. ...
