Researchers published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences that treatment of a mouse of model of ischemic stroke with intravenous DHA up to 3 hours after onset of ischemia reduced brain infarct size by up to 9-fold and increased neurological function. DHA is a form of the antioxidant ascorbic acid that crosses the blood-brain barrier. ...
