Lupus consortium could be model for joining FDA, NIH, patients and industry

ARPA-H seeking ideas for collaboration with FDA

NIH’s new research agency ARPA-H is soliciting ideas for engaging with FDA to “encourage and incentivize public-private partnerships in the health ecosystem.” The agency and organizations that respond to its solicitation may look to the recently established Lupus Accelerating Breakthroughs Consortium as one model for focused collaboration among patient advocates, biopharmaceutical companies, regulators and the medical community.

The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health has set a May 30 deadline for responses to a request for information on ideas for collaborations with FDA. It is seeking strategies for generating “novel insights, ideas, incentives, approaches, and models at the development stage and during pre-submission, submission, and post-submission interactions to help promote and accelerate innovation.” ...
