Biotechs in China raised as much venture in 2022 as those in all of Europe
The Americas, Europe and Asia all saw less venture raised in 2022 than 2021, but remained in the range of last five years

A drop in venture funding of biotechs was seen across all regions in 2022, with Europe taking the biggest hit, according to BioCentury’s BCIQ database. But even Europe’s 55% decrease in total venture raised still put the region well within the range of the last five years.
The 23% drop in venture raised in the Americas only set that region back to its 2020 level, which was a record at the time. The Asia-Pacific region saw 12% less venture raised in 2022 than 2021...
